The small, yet energetic, group of individuals
that makes up the musical side of Generations is constantly changing,
but is one of the most tight-knit mob of musicians you will ever encounter.
To accomplish such a partnership requires no less than a brilliant leader
who can feed both the spiritual as well as the musical needs of each
individual. The person who fills this roll is non other than Sue Ellen
Kelly.
Sue Ellen not only leads the band, but assists Lisa Jo and Lisa in
carrying the Good Word across in song. Occasionally helping vocally
also include Alicia and Kathleen.
We have been blessed to have an amazing rotation of pianists. Over
the past 4+ years, we have had Maggie, Carolyn and Lisa "tinkle
the ivories" in a way that is stunning and absolutely raise the
roof with their talent and enthusiasm. We look forward to finding another
pianist, as Carolyn, our latest pianist, is moving out of state.
A similiar story can be told of guitarists. We have had summer students,
occasional fill-ins, and then we have had BOB and LEE. Bob has been
with the band since it's inception and was the rythym back-bone for
several years. Lee came aboard shortly after we formed and has blessed
us with awesome leads and the fills that just complete the songs. We
are at a state now where Bob is on a leave of absence to explore other
ventures and we are rotating a group of guitarists that are emmensely
talented as well.
"Accessory" musicians are often described as the icing on
the cake, but the talent we have had on winds, digital instruments and
strings have gone beyond just the icing to become some of the key ingredients
in our proverbial pastry. We have had musicians come and go in strings,
but we will always hold Kathy in our hearts as one of the founding members
and outstanding violinist. We hope she'll make a guest appearance, when
the time and availability match. At this point, we have the professional-grade
talent of Rob to help carry us through many songs via his Saxaphone,
digital wind instrument, recorder and other wind instruments.
Holding down the rythym is no easy chore. In this group, it is accomplished
via drums and bass. Richard on bass is a founding member and has grown
since 2000 to become better equipped to handle the "low end"
and has branched off ever so slightly to sing vocally. Drums was precisely
handled for many years by another founding member, Jonathan. Recently,
Jonathan has also left to explore other musical venues and we are rotating
guest drummers, until one agree to stay with us.
All of the words, every single note of even the most precise timing,
every musical nuance would fall flat and not be received as anything
worthy of God's praise without proper sound amplification and reinforcement
as well as the projection of images and words. All of these tasks are
accomplished by the media professionals of Trinity On The Hill. They
include Morag on projection and Mark/Anthony/Ryan on sound. These individuals
ensure that every note and every word hits the congregation just right,
completing the worship experience. Morag will be leaving around December
and we hope and pray to find someone as dedicated as this founding-member.
And who can forget the support members of our service? This includes
not just the clergy who support us in teaching, Eucharist and prayer,
but Diane and Jennifer and many other who cook: TK, Paul and others
who set up and break down, and those who greet and those who worship
with us. Our chains is only as strong as the weakest link.
Here's a tabled showing of our members. If you feel you can help out
this service in any way, please let us know. We are in need of not just
some key musical positions, but in EVERY position. Backups are needed,
support is needed, media talent is needed. Thank you for considering
us!
