OUTREACH - INREACH MINISTRY
Co-Chairs: Lisa Rothrock, Ellen McBee, Marlane Hamilton and Sue Ellen
Kelly
Vestry representative: Phyllis Bailey
Objective:
The inreach-outreach ministry is a newly-formed aliance between Pastoral
care, Renewal and Evangelism and Outreach. Objectives include:
Trinity on the Hill has made a commitment to reach out to those in
physical and or spiritual need. It is our hope that through our personal
efforts and our prayers, many can be reached by the gospel of Jesus
Christ, our Lord. To this end, the parishoners of Trinity on the Hill
donate their time and talent to a number of evangelism and renewal activities.
In addition, we offer support to those in need outside the parish, in
response to Christ's command and as an expression of God's love. This
ministry also strives "To support and enrich the life of the parish
through listening to and caring for one another in genuine love.
News:
Parishioners helping each other:
Parishioners have cooked meals, driven others to church and doctors,
delivered flowers at Easter and Christmas, and watched over young children
and the very ill. Pastoral Care "Inreach" funds have been
used to help with housing, a cell phone for people who cannot afford
phone service, and flowers for people who were ill, in the hospital,
or had a baby. We kept track of which parishioners responded to our
requests for help and tried to keep from asking the same people too
often.
We recorded 54 occasions of meals or rides provided to 24 families.
Flowers from the "Altar of Repose" were delivered to 23 parishioners
on Good Friday, and poinsettias delivered to 37 parishioners near Christmas.
Flowers were delivered to over 20 people during the year. We currently
have a pool of 90 people who are willing to help with emergencies.
The parishoners of Trinity on the Hill donate their time and
talent to a number of evangelism and renewal activities. We can reclaim
evangelism by defining it as "church members letting others in
our community know the value they have found in Christianity and inviting
them to become a member of our Christian family and to have a personal
relationship with the Lord Jesus."
The purpose of R & E:
- To create a warm and inviting church to our members at TOTH
- To help people meet Jesus within and outside of our Church
- To provide to newcomers a warm and spiritual atmosphere
- To bring Christ to those who want to know Him into our Church
- To assist the Chili Line Team Ministry at St. Stephen's in Epanola.
and St. Jerome's in Chama.
Your contributions to Outreach provide immediate and ongoing support
for charitable needs in Los Alamos and elsewhere. We provide direct
donations of money, food and household items, and coordinate various
parish outreach activities. Through this ministry TOTH has a significant
impact worldwide for improving people's lives and helping them in times
of trouble. Our bulletin board near the Church office shows some of
the many charities that we support.
